New Hampshire State Representatives and FGM activists, including our own James Middlebrook, on March 20th attended the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on HB1739 – An Act Prohibiting Female Genital Mutilation – to lend their support. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Victoria Sullivan, brings New Hampshire one step closer to protecting at-risk girls from FGM.
The bill, which has already passed the House, has a few more hurdles to jump before it can become law. We will continue supporting this bill until it is signed into law. Join us!
